We know that water is the best drink for you when you’re thirsty but if you are used to the intense sugary taste of soft-drink it can be hard to make the switch. Try things like adding sliced lemon, berries, or mint leaves to a bottle of water and leaving it overnight to absorb some extra flavour. A small amount of 100% fruit juice mixed with soda water makes for a flavoursome and fizzy drink without the extra calories of soft drink. A glass of reduced fat milk is great if you want something to drink that is a little more nourishing but avoid adding flavouring powders which are high in sugar. Gradually your taste buds will adapt to the taste of water and you will get used to drinks that are not as intensely sweet as soft drink.
