Many people dislike exercising, and I think this is partly due to the expectations of what exercise ‘should’ be. For a lot of people, exercise is about getting sweaty, getting your heart rate up, and burning calories, and many people associate exercise with running, going to the gym or attending an exercise class. I like to encourage people to be ‘physically active’ instead because this broadens the scope of activities you can do. This could be a game of Frisbee with some friends, taking a dance class, rock-climbing, or anything else that gets you moving in a fun way. Be creative and try some news things to settle on physical activities that you like and want to engage in on a regular basis.
