Milk is a great source of calcium, which kids need to help them grow strong healthy bones. Depending on the age of your children, it’s recommended they get between 1 ½ – 3 ½ serves of milk products per day, with a serve being equal to one 250ml cup of milk.
If milo is made to the manufacturer’s specifications, with three heaped teaspoons of milo per 200ml of milk, this provides the same amount of sugar as found in most soft drinks. Unlike soft-drink, milo provides essential vitamins and minerals but these are better sourced from eating a healthy and balanced diet with plenty of fruit and veggies.
My advice would be to encourage your children to eat a variety of dairy foods to meet up their daily requirements but if they want a drink of milk, limit them to one teaspoon of milo per glass.
