How do I get a referral for a Medicare rebate?
The only way to claim a Medicare rebate for your nutrition consults with Allied Nutrition is to get a referral from your GP. Make a time to discuss this with your GP and/or the practice nurse. To make things easier, print the referral request letter below and take it to your GP.
How do I claim my Medicare rebate?
If you are referred to Allied Nutrition on a Chronic Disease Management Plan you will have to pay the full consultation fee at the time of your consultation then claim the Medicare rebate back. You can do this by taking your receipt into your local Medicare office, or by claiming online. The Medicare rebate will then be deposited into your nominated bank account.
How much is the Medicare rebate?
The Medicare rebate for dietetic services is currently $52.95 per consultation covered on the plan. This does not cover the full cost of your consultation so there will be an out-of-pocket cost to you.
